NCL is owned by NCLH, which also owns Oceania and Regent. Royal Caribbean Group owns Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity, Azamara, and other cruise lines. NCL operates Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, offering a high level of onboard experience. Major US-based cruise line companies include Carnival Corporation plc and Royal Caribbean Group.

The latest Norwegian Encore is owned by a company based in the U.S., named after Norway and registered in Holland America. In Norway, Carnival Corporation plc is owned by Orlando Ashford, while Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. is owned by Harry Sommer. David Herrera is the President of Norwegian Cruise Line, a wholly-owned company. Daniel earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and American Literature from the University of Florida.
