Celebrity Cruises has announced new protocols for guests sailing from U.S. and European ports, dropping vaccination requirements and simplifying testing. The company is known for its focus on modern adult experiences and has eight of its 14 ships planned to return to sailing in 2021. The Our Cruise With Confidence program allows guests to cancel their sailing within 48 hours of their sailing date in exchange for a 100% Future Cruise Credit.
On June 26, the new luxury ship, Celebrity Edge, will become the first cruise ship to sail from US waters in more than a year. Captain Kate McCue, the first official approval from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), will sail with paying passengers onboard starting this June. The first ship to sail will be the Celebrity Edge, departing a seven-night cruise at 35 percent capacity, with at least 95 percent of passengers and crew members fully vaccinated.
