Included In The Carnival Cruise Are Island Excursions?

Carnival Cruise offers a Shore Excursion Program, which allows passengers to visit exotic ports of call and participate in optional excursions at every port. This program is designed to make your cruise vacation more memorable, whether you’re on a family cruise, couples getaway, or singles cruise to a Caribbean paradise. Half Moon Cay, a Dominican Wonderland, is a popular destination for Carnival cruises, with its features and excitement.

All shore excursions sold through Carnival are coordinated with reputable tour operators and include all of the most popular sites of interest. There is no requirement to get off the ship, as many people walk around town before returning on board. Private tours can also be found on websites like viator.com. Most excursions range from $50 per person to over $100, depending on the activity.

Snacks, drinks, and meals are included in the price of an excursion, but guests may want to bring money. Carnival Cruise Line offers fantastic shore excursions for each taste, whether you prefer visiting historic sights, doing sports, or enjoying wildlife. However, shore excursions are not required, and guests are free to walk off the cruise ship and do their own thing.

Guests can purchase pre and post-cruise shore excursions when their booking includes air and ground transportation. Pre-cruise shore excursions will be available upon booking. Overall, Carnival Cruise offers a variety of exciting activities and shore excursions to make your cruise vacation truly memorable.

Cruise ship retail giveaways often include free charms or complimentary pours while shopping for duty-free liquor. Check your daily cruise program for sales or promotions, and sometimes include physical coupons for discounts or freebies. Loyalty programs encourage repeat passengers to return with the same company in exchange for VIP treatment, priority embarkation, free specialty meals, in-room treats, and cocktail parties.

Some cruise lines even send loyal guests free swag, including custom backpacks, hats, and other travel gear. If you enjoy being showered with these little extras, be sure to show some fidelity during your cruise.

Is it cheaper to buy shore excursions on the ship?

Ship-sponsored tours are often more expensive than directly offered tours through the operator, as the cruise line serves as the middleman and inflates fees to take a cut before paying the tour company. Independent tours take smaller groups, allowing for more personalized experiences. When booking a private tour, you may be one of fewer than 20 people, compared to the smaller group sizes of third-party tours. Therefore, it’s essential to choose the right tour option for your travel needs.

Carnival does not require passengers to book shore excursions through the ship to leave the ship. It is standard practice for cruise lines to levy the same prices for shore excursions purchased either online or on board, or to offer discounts for tours reserved in advance. Royal Caribbean frequently offers discounts of up to 30% on select tours when reservations are made in advance of the sailing date. It is recommended that gratuities be provided to tour guides at the conclusion of the tour, unless the price includes such a payment or the destination is a non-tipping culture, in which case offering cash would be inappropriate.

To re-book shore excursions for a new ship or sail date, follow the order process using your new cruise booking number. Online bookings cannot be made after the cut-off date for the new sailing. If within the cut-off window, you must purchase shore excursions onboard. A detailed list of available excursions, an order form, and instructions on how to book excursions are available. Some ships offer an interactive television system for convenience.

Tipping is discretionary, but it is customary worldwide to tip tour guides if pleased with the excursion. A general rule is one dollar per person for half-day excursions and two dollars for full-day excursions.

Clothing for port excursions depends on the climate, with light, casual clothing and comfortable, low-heeled walking shoes or sneakers recommended. For water-related excursions, a bathing suit, cover-up, and hat are recommended. Remember to bring sunscreen, a towel, and a camera, and leave valuables onboard. For golf excursions, collared shirts and long pants or Bermuda-style shorts are required.

Are shore excursions worth it?

Shore excursions are a popular part of cruise trips, offering guided tours and private beach clubs to make the most of your time in each port. While not mandatory, they can be a worthwhile experience. Shore activities can be divided into two categories: those sold directly by the cruise line and those through local or third-party companies. As an avid cruiser, I have experienced both types of excursions and have had both positive and negative experiences.

One of my favorite shore excursions was a resort day pass in St. Kitts, booked through a third-party travel site, and another was a guided tour of top attractions in Jamaica, booked directly through Carnival while on one of their ships.

Cruise holidays offer the chance to explore different ports of call, but shore excursions organized by cruise lines can be expensive. Popular options include guided city tours, snorkeling adventures, and sightseeing at local attractions. For budget travelers, researching options and finding independent activities can save money. Wi-Fi access on cruise ships can be challenging due to gaps in coverage, and extra charges for Wi-Fi use.

Most cruise lines offer different plans for internet access, ranging from email checking to streaming videos. To stay connected, consider purchasing a plan that suits your usage needs or visiting internet cafes at the ports for more cost-effective options.

Can you go to the beach on a cruise without an excursion?

Passengers are at liberty to explore the ports of call at their own discretion and are not obliged to reserve shore excursions. Passengers will be informed of the time at which they are required to proceed to their cabins, which is typically 30 minutes prior to departure. It is recommended that this time be verified on board and posted in a prominent location near the ship’s gangway. The vessel will not delay its departure from the port of call in anticipation of the arrival of all passengers.

To qualify for the Best Price Guarantee, passengers must reserve the shore excursion(s) and submit an online claim form at least seven days before the cruise begins. Failure to meet certain conditions will result in the claim form being rejected. Carnival Cruise Line will review the claim within five business days. The Best Price Guarantee is only available for exact shore excursion matches, such as duration, transportation fees, and dates booked through Carnival Cruise Line. It is not applicable for shore excursions booked through any third-party where excursion details are unknown until after purchase.

If the claim meets these requirements, Carnival Cruise Line will issue a non-refundable onboard credit worth 110 of the price difference. An email confirming the outcome will be sent to the passenger. If the excursion is cancelled, the onboard credit will also be cancelled. The credit is nonrefundable, non-transferable, and has no cash value. The onboard credit must be used during the cruise, and any unused portion will be forfeited.

Carnival Cruise Line reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Shore Excursion Best Price Guarantee without prior notice or liability. The terms in effect at the time of booking determine eligibility.
