In Sea of Thieves, players can use their ships to sail for a guild by choosing the Sail for a Guild option from the Main Menu. This allows them to view all of the guild’s ships and their current status. Players can select their pledged ship or any other ship that a Guild Member has lent the Guild to use in their adventure. Once they choose a Guild, they can select one of the Guild Ships pledged to the Guild. If the Guild you choose is one you’ve joined, you can sail another Guild Members ship depending on its sharing options.
One way that one of the guild ships loses its guild status is if none of its guild members are on the ship. As long as you invite other people to the guild, the session will continue. Guilds are a social feature in Sea of Thieves that allows players to connect a group of up to 24 players and 42 ships together to work toward shared progress and rewards. Guilds can earn a Guild Emissary Ledger, and once you set your Guild, you can sail with the Guild crew, apart from old options to sail Open or Closed crew.
When choosing a Guild crew when you have an open or closed crew, you have the option to share your ship and allow other members of the Guild to sail upon it. This can earn you Ship Milestones even when you are not sailing.
If you have created or joined a Guild, you can sail for a Guild from the Sail for a Guild section in the Main Menu after selecting Adventure. Once you pick the Guild you want to sail for, you can attempt to get ships in the same server as usual.

Can you own multiple ships Sea of Thieves?
Additionally, you’re not restricted to owning one ship as you can buy one of each of the three ship types. If you want multiple ships of the same type, you first need to unlock a Legendary Ship Title by reaching Class 50 in one of the Ship Milestone categories with the desired ship. For example, if you want a second Sloop, you need to get a Legendary Ship Title using your original Sloop first. You can own up to five of each ship type, giving you a maximum number of 15 owned and captained ships.
By owning a ship in Sea of Thieves and setting sail with it, you are also its Captain. Buying a ship is obviously quite expensive, costing a lot of hard-earned Gold, but being a Captain comes with its own benefits and unique features. These include the ability to save ship customization options, add trinkets and trophies to your ship, decorate the Captain’s Quarters, access the exclusive Sovereign faction at outposts, and buy Captain’s Supplies from Shipwrights.
When you board your first Captained ship for the first time, you’ll be greeted by the Pirate Lord for a brief Sea of Thieves Captaincy tutorial too. Furthermore, cosmetic ship damage (scorch marks, scratched paint, splintered wood planks, etc…) persists between sessions on captained ships, so you can also pay to ‘Restore’ your owned ship, repairing any visual damage – this lets you decide if you want a clean ship or something more battle-scarred.

How do I pledge a ship to a Guild?
Pledging a Ship to a Guild. During the process of creating a Guild, or at any time during your membership with a Guild, you can pledge one of your captained Ships. This moves that ship away from the My Ships menu and to the Guilds menu on the main screen, but don’t worry, you are still the ship’s owner!
Pledging a ship means that all progress made on that ship will contribute to the Guild’s progress as well. Once this is done, you have the option of sharing your ship and allowing other members of the Guild to sail upon it (earning you Ship Milestones even when you aren’t the one sailing it!), or you can continue to keep it private. Sharing ships is a fun way to see how your friends decorate their own vessels!
Once your Guild is created, you can manage it from the Guilds menu. You’re able to tweak the branding at any time, as well as manage the “permissions” of each member of the Guild. Only the Guild Owner has all the permissions, but some members can be made “Guild Leaders” and have permission to invite more members. A Guild Owner also has the option to transfer that ownership to another player and give up control of the Guild. Now you’ll want to Invite players to the guild!

How many Guild ships can you have in Sea of Thieves?
Guild Ships. Pledging an owned ship to the Guild means you can earn progress for the Guild while doing any usual in-game action that would normally earn progress or gold. A pledged ship is available for use by any Guildmates (by default), allowing them to use it to forward Guild progress as well as achieve ship milestones for the original ship’s owner. What is the biggest ship you can get in Sea of Thieves?
The Galleon is the largest Ship type in Sea of Thieves. Choosing the Galleon at the start of the game will allow yourself and three other players to join the crew.
Galleons are the most difficult to sink until the water reaches the second deck, where it fills up rapidly. Galleons are armed with more Cannons, Sails and Cannonball storage, but are more difficult to maneuver than any other ship and require several crew members to be constantly working together. The Galleon is the fastest ship, with the exception of sailing against the wind or when sailing with sidewind. With four crewmates on the cannons, a Galleon can quickly sink just about any ship when positioned right. Expert sailors will have to make use of the two Harpoons to achieve the best maneuverability. Galleon crews have to watch out for any damage on the wheel, sails or capstan, as any damage to any of these will essentially make the ship helpless and needs to be tended to at once. The Capstan of the galleon takes a long time to anchor up, so a crew has to keep an eye out for enemy boarders lowering the anchor.
The Galleon has one aft deck above the Captain’s Quarters (where the helm is), the main deck, and two below decks. The Voyage Table is in the Captain’s Quarters at the rear of the main deck. The Map Table, Resource Barrels, the Weapon and Ammo Chest and the Stove are located on the middle deck. The lower deck only houses the Brig. The mid deck is typically above the waterline and holes there won’t take in water unless the lower deck is flooded or the ship is hit with a Ballast Ball.
