How To Land On Recruitable Frigate?

To recruit a frigate in No Man’s Sky, fly close to the frigate labeled with the Recruitable Frigate tag and open up communication with its captain. They will offer to join your fleet and you can view its qualities. However, you cannot land on the frigate or talk to the captain. Is there a default keybind on PC to open a conversation?

Frigates are mid-sized starships larger than single-user starships but smaller than freighters. They can usually be found surrounding an NPC freighter. To recruit a frigate, travel close to the frigate’s position and use their intercom (via quick menu) to talk to the captain and choose the option to hire their services. You can hire frigates with a green icon and then fly anywhere near them (you don’t need to land).

Don’t rush to start doing frigate missions; you have a universe of time. Once everything comes together, units will appear. Fly your Starship to the frigate and land on it (damaged frigates marked with a red navpoint). The captain will contact you and show you the frigate. Approach a recruitable frigate and speak with them on the Starship Communicator.

To recruit an organic frigate, the player must have less than 30 frigates of any type in their armada. After finding the frigate, you can use the Trade Specialist to produce 2 Chromatic Metal.
