How To Install Thule Kayak Carrier?

The Thule 834 Hullaport is a versatile kayak carrier designed to safely transport kayaks of all shapes and sizes. Its unique J shape allows for easy loading. To install the Thule kayak carrier on the roof of your car, follow these steps:

1. Load the kayak into the carrier and position it evenly between the two supports.

2. Slide the buckle bumper up the strap to expose the strap buckle.

3. Route the straps as illustrated.

4. Pull the strap firmly to secure the boat to the carrier.

5. Slide the buckle bumper down over the buckle.

6. Tie the loose end of the strap.

Installation of the top and bottom cradles is crucial. Slide plates into tracks in the correct orientation and tighten the top cradle to the plate.

The Thule multipurpose kayak carrier is available in various sizes and colors. The load bars must be at least 24 (610mm) apart for safe use. Always tie down the bow and stern of the boat to the vehicle.

To open the carrier, push the upper arm to the right and allow it to pop up and snap into place. It is easier to open the carrier if the boat is a kayak.

The Thule Group 2021 offers a wide range of watersports carriers, including the Thule 834 Hullaport, Thule Get-a-Grip, and Thule MultiLift.
