How To Cure Seasickness On A Cruise?

Seasickness can be a common issue on cruises, but there are several ways to prevent it. Some effective tips include getting plenty of fresh air, eating light foods like saltines, bread, and pretzels, and using ginger as a natural remedy. Heavy and greasy foods can also increase symptoms and risk. Wearing an acupressure wristband can also help alleviate seasickness.

There are various options for seasickness prevention, including medicines, seasickness patches, Sea-Bands, and cabin-booking tricks. These remedies work well on a cruise, and it is essential to familiarize yourself with them before your cruise.

Some of the best techniques to prevent seasickness include packing medications like over-the-counter antihistamines like Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) and meclizine (boneine), which should be taken orally one hour before rough seas are encountered. Wearing an acupressure band around the wrist is another natural way to alleviate sea sickness. Transderm Scop, a scopolamine nausea patch applied behind the ear at least eight hours, is a widely recommended remedy.

Ginger root is a natural remedy for nausea, and ginger chews can be easily stowed in a fanny pack or carried on board. Over-the-counter motion sickness medications, such as Dramamine and Bonine, are often available on ships to prevent cruisers from becoming sick. Bringing motion sickness medication as a backup is usually the best idea.

Acupressure wristbands, which apply directed pressure, are another natural seasickness remedy. Dramamine® helps prevent and treat all four symptoms associated with motion sickness: nausea, dizziness, vomiting, and queasiness. On day 3, ginger root is one of the oldest and most famous remedies for seasickness.
