Guests can carry their own soda onboard, but any food or drinks brought on the ship must be unopened and in their original packaging. They will need to bring it with them in a day.

Of course, if your party is divided amongst cabins, it’s a little easier to bypass this requirement. Even so, Carnival Cruise Line discourages sharing packages. If you’re caught, they have the right to revoke your package, even if you are only a few days into your weeklong cruise.

The sharing of packages isn’t permitted for a few reasons. First, they profit off of each package sold. If one person pays $440 for a 5-night cruise and shares it with another passenger, that’s $440 that Carnival won’t see. Additionally, they cannot verify the age of guests who are handed a drink, whereas everyone who orders at the bar must present their Sail & Sign card.

Even if you think you’re being sneaky, it’s easier to get caught than you think. There are cameras located all around the ship, and bartenders are trained to keep an eye out for those who might be taking advantage of drink packages.

Can you take liquids in a carry-on for a cruise?

3-1-1 Liquids Rule. You are allowed to bring a quart-size, zip-lock bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes though the checkpoint in carryon luggage.

• These combined items need to be less than 3 ounces.

• So the 3-1-1 rule is the TSA’s quick reminder: 3 ounces, 1 quart bag and 1 bag per traveler.
• Note that food items, such as peanut butter, sauces or beverages need to fit within this 1 bag and larger items will be confiscated and discarded. If you are buying food items as gifts or to eat at your destination, then pack them in your checked suitcase.

Medications / Travel Challenges. The TSA does allow travelers to carry medications with them while traveling and these medications do not need to be packed in you 3-1-1 bag.

• Medications in pill or other solid form must undergo security screening.
• It is recommended that medication be clearly labeled to facilitate the screening process.
• Bring evidence verifying a medial implant or device if it is likely to set off an alarm while being screened. This is not a TSA requirement, but it may ease the process.TSA has extensive guidanceon this topic.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable onboard environment for all, guests are prohibited from bringing any beverages including liquor, beer and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, soda and juices on board the company’s ships either as carry-on or checked luggage, with the exception of purified or distilled water in factory-sealed containers for use in conjunction with medical devices or for the reconstitution of infant formula; and fully sealed and/or corked wine bottles for personal consumption onboard that is subject to screening and a corkage fee (for guests 21 years of age or older). Open beverages of any kind must be consumed or discarded at the security check-point, on embarkation day and at any port of call.

To provide our guests with a smoother and faster embarkation experience, we will be implementing this updated policy effective July 15. This revised policy brings the company in line with other best practice travel security protocols and reduces the need for individual time consuming screening and package inspection of large volumes of beverages.

Distilled waterGuests may bring on board distilled water for use with a CPAP machine or nursery water for families with babies and packed in carry-on luggage.Distilled water may also be purchased onboard at $3.00 USD per gallon by contacting Room Service. The CPAP machine must be packed in carry-on luggage.
