How To Avoid Nausea Snorkeling?

To alleviate nausea during snorkeling, consider taking motion sickness medication, staying hydrated and eating the right foods, following boat tips to avoid nausea, wearing earplugs, snorkeling in a sheltered area, and breathing deep and slow. If you’re prone to seasickness, avoid open water snorkeling and try snorkeling in a bay or lagoon with natural protections.

To avoid seasickness, try snorkeling in calm water conditions, follow package instructions with ear plugs, and avoid pushing them deep into your ear canal. Factors influencing nausea include hydration and food intake.

To avoid mask fog, apply baby shampoo or mask defogger liquid to the inner side of the lens, rub it around, and rinse. People with high blood pressure or low potassium levels should avoid licorice. Peppermint, especially in the form of essential oil, is a safe and effective way to alleviate nausea.

If nausea creeps in, find a place with a horizon, fresh air, and face the direction of the vessel. No-screens or books are one of the quickest preventative non-drug measures. Remember to read the medication label carefully and follow the instructions exactly.

  • Thank you very much I do play a lot of call of duty I don’t get sick. But my mom and my wife got me the DJI fpv and I did get slightly motion sickness but very light I’m glad that I ran into you and I purchased these hopefully I’m going to get some great articles I’m traveling out of the country for a kite festival my wife’s country in Colombia and I’m hoping to get some phenomenal footage also on the countryside thank you so much

  • You don’t see many people talking about this but it must be common because lots of people get motion sickness with VR games too. Another helpful hint is to squeeze your jaw into your chest while your are flying (looking down). I don’t get motion sickness flying around high, it’s when things start moving past the camera in close proximity like grass, tree branches etc. The fun stuff 🙁

  • I’m glad to see this product however, my personal feeling is that FPV is actually a way to get over having motion sickness issues. I started having the same symptoms that you speak of just on the simulator. I taught myself not only how to get over the motion sickness but also became incredible better at freestyle overnight! You need to find the horizon, always be fighting to line up the horizon and then the blue/white area is up, and dark /green/ or jagged buildings are down and my muscles would react naturally and linen me up even like an internal gyro. Give it a shot, practice flying straight up and tumble down, close eyes open and reorient your self and viola….:) Happy hobbying!
