The City of Santa Clarita has partnered with Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc. to offer a senior citizen discount on refuse disposal services for 40-gallon black trash containers. Residents aged 62 and older are eligible for reduced costs on refuse disposal services for their 40-gallon black trash container. Complimentary pull-out or back-yard services are provided for senior and handicapped residents, as well as free additional recycling and green waste containers.
Senior Citizen Rates are equivalent to a 20 discount to individuals over 60 years of age and living as a primary account holder. Since 2007, Burrtec has been the single franchised waste hauler for the City of Rancho Cucamonga, providing recycling, refuse, and other services.
A senior discount of 25 will be given to residents who meet the criteria of being the head of the household and elderly (62 or older), and qualifying for utility rate discounts. To apply for a discount, residents must contact Burrtec Customer Service and provide a copy of their driver’s license or California Identification Card.
Residents who are 60 years or older and are the head of the household can also apply for a discount on their bill. Burrtec will distribute up to 500 home compost bins per calendar year to residents who wish to compost organic waste at home.
