The Icon of the Seas, the largest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet, was launched in January 2024 and opened for bookings in October 2022. It is the first ship in the new Icon class, with a gross tonnage of 250,800 GT and a maximum guest occupancy of 7,600. The Explorer of the Seas, built in 2000, is one of the coolest culture-cruising ships out there and is part of Royal Caribbean’s 27 cruise lines in its Voyager Class.
The ship was constructed at MEYER TURKU’s Finish shipyard and delivered in 2000. When completed, it stood alongside other vessels in the Voyager Class as one of the largest cruise ships in the world. The luxury liners in the Voyager Class were constructed between 1999 and 2003.
