How do you get from the Disney Yacht Club to Animal Kingdom?

  • Magic Kingdom® Park: Take the Magic Kingdom® Park bus from the front of the resort. Bus service is shared by Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Resort as well. A leisurely, but more scenic alternative, is to walk through Epcot® and take the Monorail to the Ticket & Transportation Center and switch to the Magic Kingdom® Park Monorail from there.
  • Epcot®: If it’s too hot to walk or if you simply want to conserve your energy, take the Friendship boat launch. But take note that the launch also stops at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin and Disney’s BoardWalk Resort docks so the trip to Epcot® could take up to 20 minutes.
  • Disney-MGM Studios: Take a separate Friendship launch. As with the Epcot® launch, service is shared with the other Crescent Lake resorts. Once again, this trip can take up to 20 minutes.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park: Take the Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park bus. However, in addition to Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort guests, the bus also makes stops at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels.
  • Downtown Disney® Marketplace, Downtown Disney® West Side, Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island: Take the Downtown Disney® bus
  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park: Take the Downtown Disney® bus
  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park: Take the Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park bus

For those wishing to go anywhere else on (or off) property, Bell Services can get a taxi for you. The bus stop at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is located to the left as you exit the lobby, on the other side of the porte cochere (valet loading and unloading area).

Is Animal Kingdom worth a full day?

With a range of attractions, rides, and culinary experiences, Animal Kingdom now holds its own against any of the other Disney World parks. The question at hand, however, is whether that range of attractions is worth dedicating an entire day to explore and experience. The short answer is: Absolutely!

Plus, the Disney Skyliner station at International Gateway at EPCOT is conveniently located just a short stroll away from Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment district, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.

Can you finish Animal Kingdom in half a day?

Many Disney fans say that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a half-day park, and to a certain degree, I can understand that. Whether we spend half a day there or the entire day, I do four things every time I visit. These experiences are things I make my friends do with me, or if I’m alone, I make it my mission to complete each item. We all have certain attractions and dining locations that we feel are must-dos each trip, and I would love it if you shared your Animal Kingdom list in the comment section so we can all compare!

Okay, enough of my rambling. Let’s jump into my list of the four things I never skip at Animal Kingdom.

Festival of the Lion King. First on my list is the Festival of the Lion King. In my opinion, this is the best stage show at Walt Disney World. It is perfectly paced, the performers are phenomenal, and the music will have you dancing all day. All my friends and family know I can’t leave the park without seeing this show.

How long do most people stay at Animal Kingdom?

Karen, this is a heavily debated topic. Some Guests feel that Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is a half-day park. But you and I know that those naysayers are incorrect! With so much to do and see throughout the park, my family and I always plan to spend an entire day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It also happens to be our favorite of the four Theme Parks. We love that we can take it a little slower and really immerse ourselves in the local cultures. Whether we’re watching the drummers in Africa, shopping for souvenirs in Asia, or playing carnival-style games in Dinoland U.S.A., we enjoy experiencing everything Animal Kingdom has to offer!

Here are some of my favorite recommendations for spending the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

MorningStart your day in Africa with a warm Cinnamon Roll from the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery. But make sure not to get too full and sleepy yet because you have to see what animals you can spot on the Kilimanjaro Safaris! My wife and I like to see who can find a new animal we’ve never seen before on the Safari. From there, zip over to the Celebration of Festival of the Lion King. This Broadway-style show is sure to warm your heart and put a big kid grin on your face!

Can you see fireworks from Disney Yacht Club?

Located at Disney’s Boardwalk, Disney’s Yacht Club and its lighthouse offer the perfect view of Illuminations inside of EPCOT. You do miss the fire barge scene, the globe in the lagoon, and the lower fireworks display, but the music is audible, and the crowds cease to exist from this area.

9. Illuminations from the Second Floor of Japan. Illuminations fireworks from the Second Floor of Japan.

Right outside of ‘Teppan Edo’ on the second floor of the Japan pavilion is a balcony that overlooks the pavilion and the lagoon. From here, you set yourself away from the crowds around the railings of the lagoon, while still being able to see every scene of Illuminations at an elevated location.

In addition, the Epcot station puts you within a short walk to the Boardwalk entertainment district where you’ll find lots of restaurants and things to do.

Important note: You can’t get to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, or Disney Springs from the Disney Skyliner. If those are your destinations, you’ll need to use another mode of Disney transportation.

In true Disney fashion, these stations are very well themed and reflect the aesthetics of their location.

How long is boat ride from Yacht Club to Hollywood?

The Friendship Boats are one of my favorite modes of Walt Disney World transportation. The Friendship Boats travel between Epcot and Hollywood Studios and then back to Epcot again. This trip takes an average of 40 to 50 minutes one way because the Friendship Boats make three stops in between Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The three stops are the Swan and Dolphin Resorts (one stop), the Beach Club and Yacht Club (one stop), and the Boardwalk Resort, so this does add time to your journey. From the Yacht Club Resort you are looking at around a 15 to 20 minute boat ride to the Hollywood Studios and the same amount of time to get back to the Yacht Club from the Hollywood Studios.

I hope that you have a magical voyage on your next trip to Walt Disney World!

How long is the walk from Yacht Club to Hollywood Studios?

Epcot’s World Showcase is about an eight-minute walk from the Yacht Club lobby. Hollywood Studios is about a 20-minute walk from the Yacht Club lobby.

Keep in mind that when visiting Epcot, you’ll be using a different entrance than other guests. the World Showcase entrance is between the U.K. and France pavilions. We briefly discuss this in our Epcot Rope Drop Strategy.

Besides the two parks, you can also walk to all those other hotels and any other spots along the Boardwalk, which has restaurants like Flying Fish and Big River Grille, as well as a pretty good bar in AbracadaBar.

Besides walking, you can take a boat to Hollywood Studios (approximately 12-minute trip, running every 15 minutes) and Epcot (about 5-7 minute trip).

  • Welcome back, sorely missed you guys!!! As you well know, we stayed at Yacht Club last year, and I must say, it did lose some of it’s magic. For a start, wasn’t impressed with the updates of the lobby, but I got over it. BUT, my main beef was the staff members behind the desk, didn’t ask us if we had anything to celebrate, even though we mentioned to the staff member, we were celebrating my son’s belated 21st. birthday, and my husband’s birthday, didn’t offer them any pins. In previous years we stayed at any Disney resorts, and the Yacht Club, they automatically asked us, and gave us pins, whether or not celebrating anything! I asked them if we could have some pins and the automatic response was ” no!” Okay…. On the day of my son’s birthday, the captain was behind the desk and I kindly asked him for a celebratory, explaining it was for his belated 21st birthday. With a slight hesitation, he agreed to two, one for my son and my hubby’s birthday. That wasn’t my beef, but the fact I had to write on the pins! Like you said, they were the most rudest, front desk I have ever encountered! Like everything was such a bother. Thank you for your honest reviews, going to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge this June ( email said in 49 days! Yeah ). We have a pool view room, booked breakfast at Boma for a few mornings and the Sanaa for dinner one night. I think the next time we go to Disney World, would like to stay at Grand Floridian, since never stayed at Disney hotel along the Magic Kingdom monorail.

  • Hi Dan. Great fair reviews! We’ve stayed at Yacht Club multiple times and I can confirm that it’s pretty much never overrun with children. Doesn’t bother me either way, but it’s a fact. I agree the quick service is poor and the multiple bus stops are frustrating but I can’t agree about the walk to Epcot 😂. Honestly it’s not a long walk and it’s such a pretty walk. I think you had it in your head that it was literally next door which has skewed your perspective a bit. Also worth considering that the walk from Beach Club is quicker because it’s closer. Personally I would never stay at Animal Kingdom, beautiful as it is, it just feels too remote. I love being able to pop out in the evening to Epcot or Boardwalk, visit the Swan and Dolphin etc. That’s my reason for loving the Epcot area resorts. I love visiting the Grand Flo, but it’s too busy for me. It’s always rammed, and sometimes it’s nice to get away from crowds. In the future, I’m looking forward to visiting the Riviera. From vlogs I’ve watched it looks beautiful but currently there’s never non vacation club availability to stay and it’s super expensive. The thing about the resorts I suppose it’s a fact that there’s always going to be one that suits you better than the others and we’re all different 😊. But great overview. Thanks!!
