How Much Is Popcorn On Disney Cruise?

Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of snacks, including popcorn buckets, candy, and sodas, for an additional fee. Popcorn and packaged snacks are available at an extra cost, as do specialty desserts and gelato at premium dessert shops on the ship. Disney popcorn buckets are popular collectibles and can be difficult to obtain, especially during cruises between May and September.

Popcorn buckets on Disney cruise ships are often different from those found in Disney theme parks, with new designs being released frequently. Refills for both popcorn and candy are currently 1.50. Prices are subject to change, but this should give a budgeting ballpark.

Guests can purchase souvenir buckets during their cruise and receive discounted refills on popcorn for the duration of the cruise at any location. A regular bag of popcorn on Disney Cruise Line costs 4.03 (3.50 plus gratuity), so on a seven-night cruise, you would spend 28.21. However, the only snack we found overpriced was the popcorn. We bought a 4 bucket each night ahead of the daily musical production, and it was clearly a high price.

Preludes snack bar is located on the theater level of all five Disney ships and sells snacks such as popcorn, candy, and sodas for an upcharge. Preludes serves beverages and snacks for purchase during live performances and movies, making the fresh popcorn worth the extra few dollars.

Do you have to pay for popcorn on a Disney cruise?

Food on Disney Cruise Line is included in your cruise fare, but the pre-packaged snacks sold outside the theaters are not. There is a concession stand that sells candy, popcorn and drinks. It’s easy to just hand the crew member your Key to the World card to charge some candy, but this can add up if you do it very often (or if your child has charging privileges!). You do have the option of bringing candy from home if you wish. We bring a travel mug with us and just fill it up on the pool deck before heading to a movie. With all the food and drinks available for free, this is a cost that is easily avoided, but may help to know about it in advance.

This one is probably the most obvious. It’s hard to resist bringing home some kind of keepsake of your Disney voyage, so make sure to plan ahead and set a budget in advance. My husband loves the look of the Disney Cruise Line logo, especially on their polo shirts, so before a cruise, he looks through his closet to see if he needs to replace any and just as a reminder of what colors are already in his closet. Then when he gets on the ship, he is less tempted to buy too much and go over our souvenir budget. If you’re traveling with kids, it may be helpful to let them know what their budget is ahead of time. The good thing is that you’re on the ship for a few days, so you won’t have to make purchases right away, you’ll have time to think them through.

Tips on Disney Cruise Line are automatically added onto your shipboard account at the beginning of the cruise. These cover your stateroom host and dining room staff. Disney suggests an amount to tip, but this can easily be increased or decreased at Guest Services. If you choose to order room service during your cruise, it is customary to tip the crew member who brings it to your room. Unlike at a hotel, the room service food is complimentary, but tips are not included. You can either tip in cash or have it billed to your shipboard account.

Is popcorn free on Disney Wish?

Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas dual theatres (located on opposite ends of Deck 4 forward) showcase first-run and classic Disney movies in an attractive space. Rather than have just one large theater, as has been the case on past Disney ships, Disney Wish breaks up its onboard cinemas into two more intimate venues that showcase different movies. There’s no charge for admission, though popcorn and other cinema snacks can be purchased at a small concession booth.

Can you bring old popcorn buckets on Disney Cruise?

Officially, Disney Cruise Line’s written policy available to Cast Members and Crew alike is currently the following: “Popcorn buckets and Beer Mugs purchased on previous cruises may be brought onboard. However, they may not be refilled.” The Disney Cruise Line Representative working shoreside clearly stated that guests should make a purchase for a new popcorn bucket each time they embark on a new voyage to be eligible for the refill pricing. ;

• According to the Crew Members on board the Disney Wish, they have noticed that despite this policy guests who may have cruised often as Castaway Club members still do bring older popcorn buckets on board
• sometimes the popcorn buckets available to purchase on the ships may the same design as those found in the theme parks. Currently however, I’ve observed that Crew Members may be instructed to ask guests for a receipt or confirmation that you’ve purchased the popcorn bucket on board in order to provide a refill. (Ultimately Disney Cruise Line offerings and policies are always subject to change without prior notice and may be at the discretion of the onboard Food & Beverage leadership on your voyage.)

Similarly, the Cast Members who sell popcorn at Walt Disney World Resort say they contend with guests who attempt to bring in older popcorn buckets and may or may not provide refills if the popcorn bucket is not consistent with their current stay.;

How much are popcorn refills on Disney cruises?

There is something extra special about Disney popcorn, so I’m glad you are setting your sights on the salty snack during your Disney Cruise Line vacation. While the Cast Member I spoke with could not confirm the exact price, you can expect to pay around $20 for one of the specialty Character buckets and about $8.50 for the traditional bucket. Refills for both are currently $1.50. All prices are subject to change, but this should give you a budgeting ballpark.

Since some Character buckets pop off the shelves quickly, I recommend stopping by Preludes to buy your favorite on the first evening of your cruise. You will also get every kernel of savings from refills if you purchase your bucket at the beginning of your voyage.

When making your packing list, Lindsey, remember to make space to get your bucket home so you can enjoy a little Disney magic after your vacation. And while we are talking souvenirs, remember to stop by the shops onboardonce you set sail to check out all the amazing memorabilia available. Is ice cream free on Disney Cruises?

You will be happy to know that Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars are complimentary on every Disney Cruise Line ship! How fun is that?? If you are like me, no Disney vacation is complete without one.

I usually order one at lunch in one of the Rotational Dining venues as soon as I board the ship on embarkation day. While these delightful frozen treats aren’t typically listed on the menu, just ask the server for one. And if that couldn’t get any better, when it is delivered to your table, it will already be unwrapped and resting in a bowl filled with Mickey sprinkles. You can order one during dinner, too! Mickey bars are also available through complimentary Room Service. I usually order one on the last night of my cruise. I like to give the Crew Member who delivers your in-room dining a small cash tip as a show of my appreciation for delivering my late-night snack.

If you are a fan of ice cream, remember that complimentary ice cream is available at Eye Scream Treats on most ships and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream on Disney Wish. And if your itinerary includes a stop at Disney Castaway Cay, you will find the same yummy soft-serve ice cream there (but sadly, no Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars)!

How much does a Disney popcorn bucket cost?

A popcorn bucket can be a savings tool. At Walt Disney World, a standard serving of fresh popcorn in a cardboard container currently (late 2023) costs $5.50 (special flavored or colored versions may cost more). If you buy a serving of popcorn in refillable plastic bucket, you’ll pay $13.00, but each subsequent serving in the bucket will be half price: $2.25. The offer is technically “valid for length of stay” but enforcement is murky.

A popcorn bucket can also be a souvenir. In additional to basic bucket-shaped buckets, Disney routinely offers popcorn containers in fanciful shapes such as park icons or animated characters. Depending on the shape, the collectible buckets are often initially priced in the $20-40 range. The more prized versions of these may end up on eBay for many multiples of the original cost. The fancy buckets may be sold at regular popcorn carts, either WDW-wide or at select locations. A few of the most popular popcorn buckets (we’re looking at you Figment bucket) have resulted in hours-long waits to purchase or even the use of a virtual queue.

Of course, no Disney experience is complete without a meet-and-greet with Disney’s most famous characters. And your Disney cruise prices will include free opportunities on board. While you might have to wait in long lines to snag a picture at Disney’s parks, waits are far shorter at sea.

Can I bring my popcorn bucket to Disney?

Lisa, your question is on one of my favorite topics at the Disneyland Resort – popcorn! Who can resist the buttery goodness? And, is it just me, or is it extra magical when it’s at Disney? My family personally owns a dozen or so of the reusable popcorn buckets from Disneyland and Walt Disney World(WDW), and we love to use them during family movie nights. Watching “Tarzan” with a Disneyland popcorn bucket is pretty close to perfection!

While you can certainly bring your WDW popcorn bucket to Disneyland, I am sorry to say that Disneyland does not offer the refill option to all Guests like Walt Disney World. Additionally, popcorn bucket refills are only good for the length of your stay at Walt Disney World, and would not transfer to another visit or, in this case, a different Disney Resort. My planDisney Pal Brent would say popcorn refills are one of the reasons why Walt Disney World is on the best coast… and I would have to agree with him on this point. Popcorn refills are a highlight of any WDW trip! I can never resist grabbing a popcorn bucket refill with Maple Popcorn at the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT. Alas, unless you are a Magic Key pass holder with the limited-time-only refillable Magic Key popcorn bucket, Disneyland does not have popcorn refills as an option for all Guests.

Lisa, did you know that the Disneyland Resort website has a list of all of their Popcorn Cartlocations? Additionally, you can download the Disneyland Mobile App and use the app’s search function to type “popcorn” to find the nearest popcorn cart! So, if your traveling group tends to enjoy more than a couple of boxes a trip, then the Refillable Popcorn Bucket is probably a good option for you. Plus, you get to take home your Bucket — which is often themed to a season and nearly always features Disney characters — and enjoy it as a souvenir after your vacation!
