So what happens with the taxes ? Cos you’re taking that into the U.K…youre gonna be taxed ..and what about declarations ? As a Brit, long-term work on cruise line if it’s non British is going to leave you with no right to unemployment and what about a pension ? It’s definitely not viable long term.. for a Westerner from a highly developed country.. Ok for a few years..
The important question is how many hours do you work to earn that income. I would suggest that generally speaking your income is not particularly good. Excluding your YouTube income, in Australia your cruise ship income would be considered low to middle and certainly would be for a less than 40 hour 5 days a week, with 4 weeks annual leave, sick days, long service and Superannuation included. Making the assumption you work 50 hours a week, on my quick calculation you are working for around $12 per hour, I think McDonalds pays more than that. The other thing you need to take into consideration is that when your are not on contract, I assume you are not receiving any income from, in this case, from Royal Caribbean, which effectively means, your annual income is greatly reduced. Of course if you are working on a cruise ship not for the money, then that’s a different proposition.
