Diving events at the Olympics were initially dominated by Team USA athletes, but in recent Olympiads, competitors from the Peoples Republic of China have been formidable. Chinese athletes won 12 of the 24 available diving medals, including seven golds, at the Tokyo 2020 Games. The official schedule and results for diving at the Paris 2024 Olympics are as follows:

What is the highest death dive?
40.5m VIDEO: New World Record Norwegian “Death Dive” (132 Feet) 40.5m / 132ft.
Home » Europe » The Norwegian ‘Death Dive’ World Record Will Have Your Jaw To The Floor.
Death diving is a form of high diving that involves jumping and soaring through the air with an exposed stomach and stretched out arms. Unlike a proper belly dive, competitors curl up right before hitting the water, often times with judges judging how long the original position was held. Would you be shocked if I said this was a Norwegian thing? The world championship takes place in Oslo, Norway, every year.
The current world record for this insane sport in Ken Stornes, and I mean it when I say his world record jump is insane. He leapt an impressive 40.5 meters, or around 133 feet. That would be a massive cliff jump in any position, let alone in this massive, arms spread out move.

Will Tom Daley be in the 2024 Olympics?
British diver Tom Daley knows the trials of being an Olympian better than many after making his first appearance as a 14-year-old in Beijing. Now balancing his sport with his family life, for him the run to Paris silver has been his happiest time yet.
Daley, who won gold in the same men’s synchronized 10-meter platform event in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, decided last year to come back from retirement at the request of his older son, Robbie.
His husband Lance Black, a U.S. screenwriter and director, and their two boys were among the crowd at the Aquatics Centre on Monday, cheering on Daley, 30, and teammate Noah Williams for each of their six dives.
How many stories is the Olympic high dive?
The platform used by men and women at the Olympics is a flat, rigid, non-slip surface elevated 10 meters (roughly 32 feet, 9 1/2 inches) above the water. The height is comparable to that of a three-story building.
All modern major diving competitions, including the Olympic Games, utilize springboards made by the manufacturer Duraflex. Duraflex boards are made out of a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum, coated with a slip-resistant substance.
The springboard used at the Olympicssits3 meters (9 feet, 10 inches) above and parallel to the water when stationary. From the pool’s edge, the springboard extends five feet out over the water. The springboard is0.5meters(1 foot, 10 inches) wide and 16 feet long.
Divers control and adjust the flexibility of the springboard with a fulcrum. Located at the mid-point of the board, the fulcrum can be movedso as todecrease or increase the amount of flexibility at the board’s take-off end. Most Olympic-caliber divers prefer to roll the fulcrum all the way back from the board’s take-off end to maximize the board’s flexibility, allowing divers to launch themselves as high as possible.

What sports were removed from the Olympics in 2024?
Baseball flirted with the Olympics throughout the 20th century, often being showcased as a demonstration event at the Summer Games. Finally, baseball was added as an official Olympic sport in 1992, with its sister sport softball joining in four years later. In 2012, however, both baseball and softball were dropped from the Olympic ticket, the first time since 1936 that the IOC shrank the number of sports. Professional baseball players had been allowed to compete in the Olympics but often wouldn’t, since the Olympics overlap with the Major League Baseball (MLB) season. The IOC cited the MLB’s unwillingness to alter its season as a significant factor for dropping both sports. However, the snub didn’t last for long. It was announced in 2016 that baseball and softball would both return to Olympic sport status for the 2020 Tokyo Games (which were held in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic). The two sports were then dropped from the 2024 Games in Paris but reinstated for the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
South Korea’s curling team during the gold-medal game of the women’s tournament at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in P’yŏngch’ang, South Korea.
Curling can be considered the ice version of lawn bowls, and, trust us, it’s just as odd. Each team consists of four players alternating sliding 44-pound (20-kg) stones across ice to a target (the tee) about 130 feet (40 meters) away. As the stone is traveling, two players vigorously brush the ice ahead of the stone’s path. This warms the ice, creating a layer of water that slows the deceleration of the stone. While the sport sounds obscure, it’s been around for a while, dating back to Scotland in the early 16th century. Curling was introduced in the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924 at Chamonix, France, and then appeared as a demonstration sport in 1988 and 1992. It achieved medal status at the 1998 Nagano, Japan, Games, and an additional event—mixed doubles—joined the men’s and women’s events in 2018.

What are the 5 new sports for the 2024 Olympics?
Paris 2024 has taken the opportunity provided by the IOC in the Olympic Agenda 2020 to propose additional sports to enhance its programme and overall concept. The IOC is keen to set a new standard for inclusive, gender-balanced and youth-centred Games. Paris 2024 submitted its proposal to the IOC to integrate four additional sports closely associated with young people and reward creativity and athletic performance. These sports are breaking (making its Olympic debut), sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing. All four are easy to take up and participants form communities that are very active on social media.
Hosting the biggest event in the world is going to change our country—it’s inevitable. Paris 2024 wants sport values to become a key part of people’s lives and to prove that we can achieve excellence while also championing sustainability.
Because Paris is unique, the Games in the capital city promise a complete spectacle, thought out for the athletes, spectators and television audiences.
