How Does The Wifi Work On Carnival Cruise?

This article discusses the different Wi-Fi plans available on Carnival cruise ships, their connection process, the quality of internet service, and the option of sharing Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi access is now a necessity on some ships, and Carnival Cruise Line uses a hybrid system that combines faster satellite connections. To connect to the internet on a Carnival cruise ship, users must go to the Wi-Fi settings and select “Carnival WiFi.” The company typically offers internet access through their WiFi packages, but there are several tricks to access free WiFi points.

Some Carnival cruise ships offer onboard internet plans, allowing passengers to stay connected while surfing the web or streaming content. Onboard WiFi allows users to share every moment as it happens, connecting their phones, tablets, or laptops wherever they are on the ship. To access free Wi-Fi, users must connect to their wireless network and open a web browser. Carnival’s basic plans allow login from separate devices, but only one device can be used at a time.

Satelite Wi-Fi uses a network of orbiting satellites to allow connection, using two different bandwidths: narrowband and broadband. However, the internet service may not be suitable for data-intensive activities. Carnival’s HUB app provides a convenient way to access free Wi-Fi on a Carnival cruise.

I am a school teacher who was bitten by the travel bug many decades ago. My husband Billy has come along for the ride and now shares my dream to travel the world with our three children. The kids Pollyanna, 13, Cooper, 12 and Tommy 9 are in love with plane trips (thank goodness) and discovering new places, experiences and of course Disneyland.

  • Just returned from my cruise on the Carnival Liberty. Your articles really helped me prepare for a great cruise. Thanks so much! My husband purchased the value Wi-Fi package. I opted not to do Wi-Fi but did notice that they had day plans available for purchase through the app. I waited to connect to the free Wi-Fi at Bimini, Bahamas resort.

  • My son needs to hear the part about “Your console won’t work on a cruise cabin tv” 😂 He swears to me that he’s bringing his xbox and I swear to him that he’s not! Side note, I checked with my wireless provider, to see if they offer a package for cruise ships and they have a “Cruise and In-Flight” package, but the cruise portion is $30/day per line, so if I do decide to go with anything, it’ll be the wi-fi. Our plan already includes unlimited text and talk in Canada and Mexico, so I’m not worried about it. We’ll do the $5 plan for the Carnival app dm feature, so unless some stuff breaks loose at home, I’ll be just fine with speaking to my kids, wife and MIL.

  • Hey guys thanks for all the helpful info Going on my first cruise on May 5th the celebration I have T-Mobile so I expect internet in the ports Do you recommend getting the WiFi daily for the first sea day and then the 2 sea days after the port days? I use my phone a decent amount here but on vacation not so much Lmk!

  • Thank you so much ya’ll answered most of my questions, I just have 1 more. Do you have to buy the wifi package for EVERYONE in your room or just the 1 person? If I understood correctly you only buy for the ppl who will use it. I ask because I have been told to get the drink package everyone in the room has to get it that is over 21 yrs old, so making sure WI-FI isn’t the same way. THANK YOU BOTH AGAIN. I have never been on a cruise so making sure to get all the info I can….. Love your articles

  • Hey guys. We never used WiFi until MAS 0:45 2.0 on the Seascape and still 🤔😂. We got it because we missed a lot of info on 1.5 on the Venezia. But was great being able to communicate on the WhatsApp MAS group and post on Facebook etc on 2.0. Sorry. I’m long winded 😂. A few ?’s. We purchased the WiFi drink package for 3.0. Alaska. 1- Just curious. Do you need WiFi for WhatsApp? So many say you don’t. Some say you do 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2- Alaska is a state. But I’m figuring at sea we still need to be in airplane mode???But can it come off airplane mode in the Alaskan ports re: it’s a state? Know Mexico and Canada included with AT &T. Believe British Columbia a port. And will check with my carrier of course. 3- is there a difference with hitting the green 💬 and regular texting and IMessage. I thought IMessage is regular textng. But some ppl talk like it’s 2 different features. Help. 🫤 Great article and thanks so much. Showing my age with these basic questions 😂 but no ridiculous bills coming my way. Have a great weekend 🤗
