While this service comes at a higher cost than the self-service laundrette, it’s a time-saving luxury many cruise guests appreciate.
Cabin handwashing. For delicate items or if you’re looking to freshen up a few pieces, handwashing in your cabin’s bathroom is a simple option. Remember to pack a small bottle of travel-sized liquid detergent, and you’re all set for those quick washes. Most cruise cabins include a retractable clothesline in the shower, perfect for hanging light garments to dry.

Do cruise ships have laundry rooms for guests?
I’d rather do my own laundry. Can I do that on any cruise ship?. Some but not all cruise ships have self-service laundry rooms. The ones that do may charge per load and for use of detergent and dryer sheets. On some ships, you’ll need to swipe your keycard to pay for laundry; others require quarters.
Carnival offers launderettes for about $3.25 for each washer or dryer load; detergent and water softener will run you $1.50 a box. Disney’s self-service laundry rooms run 24 hours and cost $2 per load and $1 per box of detergent or fabric softener. Holland America only offers self-service laundry on select ships. Royal Caribbean, MSC and Norwegian Cruise Line don’t offer the ability to do your own laundry at all.
Among premium and luxury lines, such as Viking Ocean, Oceania, Silversea and Crystal, self-service facilities are common and often complimentary, but don’t look for them on most river cruise lines, as they are rare.

Does NCL Pearl have laundry facilities?
Smoking is allowed outside on public decks, in signed outdoor areas away from where food is served, and in the Cigar Bar on Deck 6.
There is no self-service laundry onboard Norwegian Pearl. Laundry service is available for a nominal cost per bag.

The Norwegian Pearl thermal suite is one of the best “day of pampering” values onboard, with a per diem fee, depending on the length of your cruise (less per day if you buy the package for the whole cruise). It allows passengers to take advantage of the coed room with the thalassotherapy pool and heated ceramic loungers, or they can go gender-specific with an ocean-view sauna, eucalyptus steam room, individual whirlpool tubs, icy-cold plunge pool and padded chaises. Cruisers with a same-day spa appointment can enjoy this area for an extra fee added to the price of their treatment.
If you roll your clothes then pack them in a plastic shopping or trash bag, you can squeeze all the air out. This way, you can fit quite a bit more into the cruise ship laundry bag. Of course, still be careful not to tear the paper bag but the smooth surface of the plastic bag makes it so easy to slide the one into the other.
I booked a balcony cabin for an upcoming14 day transatlantic NYC To Southampton. I asked about the laundry. I was told there is no laundry bag for me with my class of service. Evidently my balcony cabin must be considered steerage class on Norwegian. I can however have laundry done on a cost per piece basis. Whi h obviously would be a massive bill. Or I can wash clothes in the sink. I didn’t pay all this money to wash clothes in a sink on a ship. Since this is my first cruise, I have to say I’m noticing tremendous nickel and diming on many levels. Not sure I will do this type vacation again. This is for a cruise in apr 2024. I just djnt think it’s a very kind way to treat a first time cruiser on a 14 day trip. I’m willing to pay for laundry, but being ripped off isn’t my idea of people I want to do business with
