Does Entering Mexico Need A Visa For Chinese Nationals?

Chinese citizens do not need a visa for Mexico if they already have a valid Schengen visa or a valid visa from the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, or any of the Schengen countries. However, they must obtain a visa for tourism when visiting Mexico, as China is not on the list of countries that require a visa.

Passport holders from countries on Mexico’s no visa required list do not need to apply for a formal visa to visit Mexico. Instead, they can use a visitor’s permit, known as a FMM (Forma Migratoria Multiple). For example, an Indian passport and US B1/B2 visa can be used to enter Mexico without needing a separate Mexico visa.

For business or tourism purposes, a paper or embassy visa is the only available option. A visa is required for Chinese passport holders visiting Mexico for tourism and business purposes. As of 2024, Chinese citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 90 countries and territories, ranking the Chinese passport 60th in the world.

For foreign nationals exempted from visa to travel to Mexico as non-lucrative visitors (tourism, business visitor, in transit, etc.), they can enter Mexico as long as their multiple entry visa is valid. Foreigners from any country traveling to Mexico on vacation or visiting Mexican seaports on a cruise ship are not required to obtain a visa or other necessary documents.

In summary, Chinese citizens need a visa for Mexico to enter the country, but not for tourism or business purposes. Passport holders from countries on Mexico’s no visa required list can use a visitor’s permit, such as a FMM, without needing a separate Mexico visa.

  • I don’t get this at all. These migrants all have passports or they wouldn’t have been able to fly to Ecuador. Why not just go to a US consulate and get a 10-year multiple entry visa, like almost 3 million of their countrymen? So much less dangerous, cheaper, and all-around less hassle. If they can’t get a visa it means that the US finds them undesirable for some reason, so what makes them think they will get asylum? Something really strange is going on here and the press is not investigating or asking the right questions.

  • This is frustrating for people who went through the legal process I personally have been waiting for my family and husband for years now for immigrant visas. I pay a lot of taxes knowing that it will only go to the illegal immigrants who have been more qualified in Medicare than me who have paid taxes for years. 😢😢

  • I picked up a Chinese mom with two daughters at the Honolulu airport and they were going to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. On the way there, I asked them where they were from and they were sad that they were from Boston. Later the mom was sad that they had left from California but, I already knew they had crossed the Mexican border because they didn’t have suitcases, they had nylon bags and their clothes were dirty. when we arrived there was a man and another boy waiting for them and they ran to the car and they jumped and hugged each other and cried. he was the father and son and I could see they came before them and the mother and two daughters came after. of course they used the route from China to Hong Kong to Turkey to the equator and overland to the Mexican border to enter the U.S.

  • They really think it’s better here? In California, and New York rent is like $2,000-$5,000 for a 2 bedroom how the hell are they gonna pay that kind of rent making minimum wage? A lot of people here can’t pay that kind of rent. We’re living pay check to pay check. I thought they had it good in China. We’re gonna see more homeless people for sure.

  • A lot of people think they can make a much better living in the USA. After they settle down, they realize that the living cost in the USA is significantly higher than in China. The apartment rent is a lot lower in China, they usually need to live in a shared basement bedroom for a few years to save up some money, and then they continue to move up to a better life…Most of these Chinese people already have better living quality in China…

  • Ahh every one loves America. When you go live there and even if you have to struggle to make, people just America. I live Canada and this is my number 1 country to live in .I love America also.I love North America on the whole. You miss it if you return home and you crave to go back. These 2 countries you feel very free and very respected

  • if you look at it from a theoretical economics framework, the issue is with fattening bureaucratic spending without restraint, worldwide – this causes the most harm to the populace; it’s unsustainable. within the latter economics framework, are entitlements – the most important category. politicians/bureaucrats tax entitlements either directly or via inflation at increasing levels. all of which, gives us asset-classes such as gold, and cryptocurrencies that shield the individual from government ineptitude… the politicians’ perspective is simply to tax more, and spend more; or find ways to crack-down on those who are hoarding wealth outside the currently accepted system. but of course, this is destined to fail(!). how governments/populace has always addressed ‘supply & demand’ issues that are part of the system, from the Great Depression to the current age – tax and spend. the economic system being the accumulation/pooling of wealth in the hands of the few/1%. no-where in the economic system, is it incentivized to pay more tax! it almost sounds paradoxical if not counterintuitive. but you need an incentive to pay tax…not coercion/fiat. y = square root of x. pay more tax, have more votes/say in how things are run, is how things must be done – or, face revolution. but it doesn’t work that way; political leaders would rather ‘hide their heads in sand’, than untangle the intricate weave of entitlement spending… both (authoritarian/democratic) systems do not allow for a ‘changing-of-the old guard’ – the system never changes, or does so incrementally, even with violent uprisings.

  • I was shocked to see millions of immigrants and refugees fleeing their countries this year! What happened in your countries! Why are there millions of immigrants and refugees fleeing to foreign countries such as U.S.A, Canada, Indonesia, etc.? Last year, U.S.A. Southern and Central California had disastrous floodings, landslides, and earthquakes! Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and nearby states had destructive floodings and hurricanes! Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and nearby states have devastating tornadoes! The north pole states such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, and nearby Canada cities had massive Snows and extremely Cold weathers! Did you know that there were thousands of homeless people in U.S.A in the past years! The 10 U.S.A states with highest homeless people in 2022 are as follows: California \t171,521 New York \t74,178 Florida \t 25,959 Washington \t25,211 Texas \t\t24,432 Oregon \t 17,959 Massachusetts 15,507 Arizona \t 13,553 Pennsylvania 12,691 Georgia \t 10,689 It’s very sad…the new immigrants and refugees will be part of this homeless list! Please make wise logical decisions before you all decide to move!

  • I was born in America. I love this nation. I wouldn’t trade it for any other place a bit worse than this, but I have to acknowledge that there are many other better places out for one to live. I wouldn’t think twice before moving to Denmark, New Zealand, Australia or any other similar. We have problems here. Many of them. Some people think it’s paradise just because it’s America, the biggest economy in the world. Such fools.

  • Reflect: Thanks Voice of America for sharing the News. All these situations can be solved by implementing ESG Policy Globally. Let the migrant country of origin authorities hold the responsibility for unable to deliver Environmental and Social friendly in their own state/country and create chaotic to others. Pray for God’s guardian and WISDOM upon the Leadership in the West. God Is Love! 🙏🏻💕🌏🌻💕🌈

  • Please take care of them while there is time, winter has returned to the world, and South America is one of the first affected. Many in the world have closed their doors to their neighbors, but at this point, anything you may offer, whether land or resources, take care of the travelers who are freezing, while the rest of the world burns.

  • Everyone deserves good life anyway everyone have there own personal way of thinking you dont have work hard to have great luck in life once your own god be your side evan some one is gangster the police always cant catch you its only example that dont means some one have to kill innocent people for nothing

  • I think the people in developing countries themselves are to blame for this situation, they have lots of children, 5-6 although they know that their country’s economic condition is bad and there is already problem of unemployment. People in countries like India and Bangladesh, even China should have less children, 1 or maximum 2. Then many problems will be naturally solved. A small family is always a happy family ❤❤.

  • The Chinese Belton Road …. look it up … these are mostly men of military age… hardly any women and absolutely no kids … most all the kids you seenin this article are Latin or from other countries.. they probably hadnto look damn hard to find a man, his wife, and a daughter… if it is his daughter… if they are legit then they are from Hong Kong …. But most Hong Kong people wouldn’t fathom making that trek…. especially through the Derian Gap …. there’s some who have been there and reported that the Chinese don’t actually go through the Gap and have a setup on the other side already.. and will not talk to anybody. While all the south American migrants will discuss anything.

  • Bruce Lee (“Be like water”). They are just finding another way than their previous methods of illegal entry. “Refusal rates among Chinese for common U.S. visitor visas reached 80% 2021 and more than 30% in 2022, the two highest years on record. While U.S. visa issuance has mostly recovered to pre-pandemic levels, the number of U.S. visas issued from China last year remained 90% below pre-pandemic levels.”

  • China has 4 times the population of USA, and has only 1/4 the farm land of USA, Chinese face harsh competition to get resources for their families. There are many posts on social media show how hardworking Chinese get a more comfortable life in USA . Which will attract more low income Chinese to migrate to USA.

  • it just doesn’t makes sense to be a single male military age male coming to america.. and i hate to say it but i been to china and their education and technology and standard of living is way better then usa and lot of people from west are moving to china for better standard of living for half the cost and they have surpassed usa in terms of top universities and the gap is increasing . but them coming to america seeking asylum is the fastest way to get into america. If you look at chinese in america majority of them dont have family here or are temporally living..

  • Just great now we have chinese coming here when is this going to stop we don’t have enough room for them this really gets under my skin I don’t like Trump but, this would never have happened if he was in office the only think is he’s not going to win the presidency because he is going to jail if that doesn’t happen I consider it a blessing.

  • The United States Government, in conjunction with the United States Embassy in China, should allow these people to be brought to the territory of the United States through civilian aircraft chartered by the United States Government and granted legal United States citizenship, instead of allowing them to be smuggled into the United States through illegal routes, which is not what a country that claims to be a democracy and a free country should do.
