In the Hourglass of Fate matchmaking process, crews can initiate a Dive by voting on the War Map to seek out opponent ships. Upon resurfacing, the ship arrives on a new server. Diving is no different in difficulty or rewards than sailing, as it allows every ship to leave the server before being a threat. This idea would functionally kill Reapers Bones as a PvP faction and allow massive multi-server alliances to hit max.
When diving, you will always migrate to a new server, so you cannot use your Quest Table to dive to a Reapers Chest or Emissary Ship on the other side of the map. This guide outlines the step-by-step process to effectively server hop in Sea of Thieves, which not only allows you to switch servers seamlessly but also lets you carry items.
After voting for the Raid Voyage, you will sail to the open sea and dive below the water, eventually emerging on a new server before the World. The diving option allows for shorter game sessions and opens access to World Events that aren’t currently active on the player’s server. They also tie into on-demand Events.
DIVING allows your ship to dive beneath the waves after sailing out into open water away from the outposts shallow shores, where you will eventually resurface. You will arrive on a new server, and also near the first island you need to visit on your voyage or tale.
In Sea of Thieves, the process of arriving directly at the quest’s location instead of sailing to it is known as Dive to Location. Starting the first or third pirates live and using the tool tale will awaken the portal next to any outpost. You can’t take MSO flags and supplies with you, but any loot can be used.
