Carnival Cruise Line has partnered with Wireless Maritime Services (WMS) to offer an advanced roaming network on board cruise ships, allowing passengers to make and receive calls while at sea using their own mobile phone and telephone number. International roaming charges will be conveniently billed to the passenger’s home mobile carrier.
Carnival Cruise Line provides cell phone service through a partnership with WMS, providing cell phone reception while Carnival’s 5G program is run through the ship’s cellular provider, Wireless Maritime Service (WMS). This allows passengers to have multiple options for voice calls, texting (SMS), and data while onboard while the ship is at sea.
However, it is not always possible to use a cell phone on a cruise ship due to the location of the ship. Depending on the ship’s location, it may not be possible to have a phone on board. In case of an emergency, families can contact the call center at 1-800-227-6482 on Monday through Sunday from 7:00am to 12am EST.
Carnival Cruise Line charges 1.99 minutes for phone calls, while Royal Caribbean charges 7.95 minutes. WiFi is available with free features and internet access, but the quality can vary greatly. Cell phones can be used on a cruise ship for various activities, including texting, making calls, and browsing the internet. Verizon’s Cruise Daily Pass offers 0.5 GB data, 50 calling minutes, and more.
