Do Cruise Lines Require Proof Of Vaccination?

Most cruise lines have dropped their vaccine and testing requirements, with smaller ships operating in 2023 scaling back their requirements. As a result, passengers can now expect to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 even when arriving by cruise ship. Disney Cruise Line will change its vaccine and testing requirements starting September 2 for all cruises departing from US ports.

Vaccination is no longer required to sail, but guests are encouraged to be fully vaccinated. As of September 3, 2022, passengers departing from most ports do not need to show proof of vaccination. However, all guests aged 5 years and older must take a pre-cruise COVID-19 test within three days.

Celebrity Cruises no longer requires vaccination or testing for most sailings, while American Cruise Lines does not have a vaccine requirement for all passengers on any of its sailings. For river cruises in 2023 and 2024, AmaWaterways is not requiring proof of Covid-19 vaccination to board its ships.

Most major cruise lines do not require guests to be vaccinated unless they are traveling from or to a destination that requires it. However, all guests and crew 12 and older will be required to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks before boarding a ship. Carnival encourages all guests, aged 5 years and older, to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines.
