Can You Take Sodas On Carnival Cruise?

Carnival Cruise Line offers a loose beverage policy, allowing passengers to bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages on embarkation day. These beverages, such as sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk, packaged in cans or cartons, must be in the passenger’s carry-on luggage. The policy does not specify a specific amount of soda that passengers can bring on board, but it states that the amount must be in their original, sealed form. Carnival has reached an agreement with PepsiCo to be the preferred beverage provider across its North American fleet.

Guests can bring up to a dozen cans or cartons of drinks like sodas, juices, or waters with them when they board. If the item is not consumed on board during the cruise, the guest may take it home provided the bottle has not been opened. Items purchased through The Fun Shops are also allowed.

Guests are not allowed to bring hard liquor, beer, or plasticglass bottled beverages, such as water, sodas, and other non-alcoholic drinks, on board. If the policy says they must be in a carry-on container, the cardboard case around a 12-pack of sodas counts as a carry-on container.

Can soda be brought from a port that you dock in during the cruise? Yes, but guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas, and other non-alcoholic beverages onboard that are packaged in bottles. A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages is acceptable, but beer is a no-no. Some cruise lines allow two bottles of wine per cabin.

Can you take a 12 pack of soda on a Carnival cruise?

While in port, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less per person.

Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise. Even though a guest has completed registration using Online Check-in, it is still the responsibility of the guest to present the required travel documents at the time of embarkation. Guests should check with their travel agent and/or government authority to determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of proper travel documentation.

Except where it is a mandatory requirement, Carnival highly recommends that all guests travel with a passport book. The passport book must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel. This will enhance the debarkation experience as delays may be expected upon return to the United States for those without one. Additionally, this will enable guests to fly from the United States to meet their ship at a foreign port should they miss their scheduled port of embarkation and allow guests who must disembark the ship before their cruise ends, due to an emergency, to fly back to the United States without significant delays and complications.

For cruises that begin and end in the same U.S port, the following WHTI-compliant documents are acceptable for cruise travel. Please note that if the cruise visits Colombia or Greenland, a passport book(valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel) is required. A passport card with the same validity is also acceptable for cruises to Colombia.

Can I bring snacks on a Carnival cruise?

This is what Carnival officially says about it: Due to concerns for food safety and contamination prevention, any food items brought on board must be pre-packaged and unopened. Homemade items or pre-cooked foods are not allowed.

I know some people bring their own food and snacks on board and it’s usually ok if it is unopened. Hubby and I have a layover in Chicago and would love to grab some popcorn. Since it’s not a factory sealed, just bagged up, would that be allowed?

Assuming you are talking about purchasing it at the airport. Both Ohare and Midway have popcorn stores that sell packaged popcorn.

Chicago popcorn means Garrett’s. Maybe if you get the tin can? I may have booked a flight or two through Chicago just for Garrett’s.

Can I bring an open bag of chips on a cruise?

While there is never a shortage of food on a Disney Cruise, I understand why it’s nice to have a handful of your favorite snacks with you while you travel. It’s always good to be prepared for when hunger strikes. The Disney Cruise Line provides guidelines for bringing food onboard with you. You are welcome to bring snacks that are non-perishable and sealed in their original packaging. You may pack these snacks in either your checked luggage or the luggage you carry on the ship with you. Please keep in mind that whatever snacks you do bring on the ship and open must be consumed during your voyage. If you don’t eat the snacks while onboard, you can take them off the ship as long as they are still unopened.Homemade, pre-cooked, or open packages of food are not permitted to be brought on the ship.

I hope that clears up any questions you have about snacks! When you are looking for a quick-bite onboard, I always recommend the spots near the pool deck. Soft-serve ice cream is always a welcome treat for me in the afternoon. Or if I’m looking for something quick and savory, I opt for a chicken tender or two. Something about those chicken tenders just tastes so good while eaten poolside on the cruise ship!

And don’t forget to leave room for the incredible dining options offered during meal times. If you want to treat yourself to some stellar service at either breakfast or lunch, check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to see which main dining room is open and serving these meals for the day. Or head to Cabanas if you are looking for a faster meal option. You really can’t go wrong!

But there is often a catch – and it can be a terribly frustrating one.

Can I travel with canned soda?

TSA’s 3–1–1 Rule and Soda. The TSA’s 3–1–1 rule for carry-on baggage strictly limits the amount of liquids, gels, and aerosols you can bring through the checkpoint. This rule generally excludes bringing regular-sized cans or bottles of soda through security in your carry-on luggage.

However, mini bottles or small containers of soda that are 3.4 ounces (100ml) or less can be placed in your quart-sized bag along with your other liquid items. After lots of searching I still haven’t been able to find any sodas that are packaged that small.

Presenting Soda at Security Checks. If you’re carrying soda that meets the 3–1–1 rule criteria or have a medical or dietary reason for carrying larger quantities, it’s crucial to declare these items to the TSA officer before screening begins.

The TSA officer might require additional screening for these items to ensure they’re safe to bring on board.

Can I bring a refillable water bottle on a Carnival cruise?

Free Lemonade & Iced Tea (and water too!) – One of the things I remember wondering before my first cruise was if I there was any complimentary beverages other than water. The good news is there is! Lemonade and Iced Tea flow freely on the Lido Deck and in the dining rooms. If you’re feeling extra fancy you can mix both the lemonade and iced tea to make an Arnold Palmer (Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this!). Of course, water is available too— and it’s perfectly safe to drink. Bring a refillable water bottle to save on trips to the Lido Deck.

Lunch in the dining room – Most cruisers rush to the Lido Deck for a buffet lunch on embarkation day, but a little known fact is the dining room is also open during lunchtime. When we choose this option, there is usually only a handful of guests dining with us. The best part? Never having to wait for a table.

TheChef’s Table – On select cruise ships there is an option for dinner at The Chef’s Table. Now, I haven’t had the chance to attend this VIP experience, but it’s on my list for a future cruise. The dinner starts with a tour of the galley followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and then a multi-course feast, prepared by a master chef. The menu is also unique to the experience. I think this would make a fantastic evening to celebrate a special occasion.
