Uber and Lyft are available for pick-up at both Miami International Airport (MIA) and the Port of Miami. The Uber pick-up point is located near the entrance of the port, labeled with a yellow sign that says Uber Pick. However, Uber is not allowed to pick up at the airport or port in Fort Lauderdale.
For those traveling alone or with others, Uber and Lyft can be a convenient option for transportation. Taxi fares between Miami Airport and the cruise port are fixed at 27 cents, while UberLyft rates will vary depending on time and demand. Uber and Lyft do not operate in all cities and are not allowed to pick up at certain airports.
To get an Uber or Lyft pickup at the Port of Miami, you can reserve a ride up to 90 days before your trip, at any time and on. Subsequent rides may be available within 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the distance needed. You can request your ride outside the terminal and wait for about a 5-minute wait for Uber at POM.
In terms of pricing, Uber and Lyft offer various options for transportation to and from the Miami Cruise Port. The average price for this trip is $9, and you can search for Uber options by entering the Port of Miami in the Where to? box on the Uber app. However, there is concern that high demand may cause long wait times for Ubers at the Port of Miami.
