Royal Caribbean International has announced that its new cruise ship, Wonder of the Seas, will be homeported at Port Canaveral, Florida, starting in November 2022. The world’s second-largest cruise ship, Allure of the Seas, arrived at Port Canaveral on October 26, 2023, and will now sail three- and four-night cruises to the Bahamas and Royal Caribbean’s private ships. The port also announced that Royal Caribbean International’s Star of the Seas will be home-ported there, with the first sailing scheduled for July 2025.
Port Canaveral has become the home to four of the five existing Oasis-class ships and will be the first home for the sixth and possibly the seventh. It is also known for its cruise ships, as it can now accommodate some of the largest cargo ships in the world. The port has 13 homeported ships and is expected to have over 8 million guests in 2024.
Celebrity Cruises is the seventh major cruise line to choose Port Canaveral as its homeport, underscoring the port’s status as the world’s busiest cruise port. The port has become home to some of the largest cruise ships in the world, including Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas.
