Are There Hairdryers On Holland America Cruise Ships?

The Holland America Line (HAL) ships have a list of prohibited items, including heat-producing devices like irons, clothing steamers, and candles. Hair dryers and curling irons are generally considered acceptable and not included on the list. However, some ships have handheld hair dryers in every cabin, while others have outlets for 110 volts AC.

NCL ships have outlets for North American standard, 110 volts AC, and not all Holland America Line ships have self-service laundries, so guests may need to purchase one of the HAL laundry packages. Only two ships in the fleet have a 220 hair dryer in the drawer by the desk area with a large mirror and plug outlets. Some older ships have weak hairdryers, so guests usually bring their own.

All staterooms are equipped with soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and shower. Hair dryers are provided in all staterooms, but they have a low setting. If guests bring their own, they should be aware that the extra large plugs on modern dryers may not work.

Guests can request a wake-up call if they need a hairdryer in their room. They can also request a safe in their room and coffee makers in their room. While hair dryers are usually provided in cruise cabins, guests can request a wake-up call if needed.

In summary, Holland America Line cruises typically have hair dryers in their cabins, but guests can request a wake-up call if they need assistance with hair care.
