Our Stay at the OAKS OASIS RESORT
Relaxation overload and the kids in playground heaven was how our stay began at the Oaks Oasis Resort Caloundra.
The Resort
The facilities at the resort where out of this world. Within minutes of our smooth check-in the kids were in their swimmers and heading to the Oasis Water Park.
The Water Park area is an enclosed water playground with 3 colourful water slides, mini dump buckets and water spraying all over the place. The water is heated and the surrounding water is shallow enough for parents to stand in and watch or for toddlers to splash in. Our kids spent countless hours at the Water Park while Billy and I relaxed on the sun loungers. Surrounding the Water Park area is a playground and two trampolines which were a big hit with our boys.
There is a kiosk within the Water Park area which has drinks, snacks, pizzas and ice creams. And most importantly the Mini Golf clubs. The mini golf is free for guests and you can play as many times as you want. The course is lots of fun and easy enough for little kids.
Next to the Water Park is another playground area. The manicured lawns are well kept gardens are lovely to sit in while the kids played on the gigantic jumping pillow. There is also a large climbing frame and a small toddler sand pit. The kids also loved the pump track. This is a modular track that is best used with scooters. We packed skateboards but ended up borrowing some scooters another guest whilst their children were playing elsewhere.
There is also a tennis court that is available for guest use with racquets and tennis balls available at the front reception desk.
Next to the restaurant and bar (happy hour at 4.30pm) is the pool and spa which was a quiet retreat as most of the kids were over at the Water Park.
The Accommodation
We loved the ultra modern rooms of The Oaks Oasis. Everything was white and clean and fresh. We had a two bedroom apartment which was very spacious. The bedrooms were large and we had a roll out bed for Polly while the boys were in the two single beds. The bathroom was styled with white towels and clean modern tiles. The shower head was perfect (I love a good shower head with lots of pressure after a day in the pool).
We had our own kitchen with stainless steel appliance and full size fridge. There was a dining table and a lounge area with a large flat screen TV. The balcony was an excellent place to enjoy our morning coffee. There was also a balcony off the main bedroom. We all slept well as the resort was quiet at night and we couldn’t hear any noise from other guests or any street noise. We were in our own little resort world.
The Resort Restaurant
We had our breakfast each morning at the restaurant in the middle of the resort. The restaurant is surrounded by a lily pad filled lake that the kids loved to search for the eels, birds and fish. The buffest breakfast was lovely and fresh with an automatic pancake maker which was a huge hit. The food was constantly topped up with hot eggs and bacon and all the sides. Available for purchase was excellent flat whites to take away and enjoy while strolling the large garden areas of the resort. There is also a buffet dinner and al a carte menu each evening.
Near the Resort
You will not need to use the car once you arrive at the Oaks Oasis as within walking distance are many restaurants, supermarkets, bottles shops and beaches. We strolled up and down the main esplanade which ran the length of the coastline and gave us amazing views up and down the coast. This large path is excellent for bike and scooter riding. We found many playgrounds and quiet beaches spots to stop and play along the way.

The Oaks Oasis Resort is an hour north of Brisbane. We arrived from the Gold Coast and the drive took two hours.
