Our Family Escape to Brunswick Heads Massy Greene

We needed a family holiday to reconnect with each other and the outside world. No technology and lots of outdoors adventures is what the weekend was about. We headed to the Northern NSW town of Brunswick Heads which is located 30mins north of popular Byron Bay. And what an amazing place it turned out to be. Crystal clear rivers, beaches, cafes and so peaceful.

Brunswick Head Town

Brunswick Heads is a small coastal town that has a village atmosphere and an amazing collection of eclectic stores and cafes. We didn’t need our car all weekend and managed to easily walk each from shop front to the next coffee place.

The town has a large collection of funky retro second hand and unique character pieces in each store. We visited at least 5 different shops that were a treasure trove of goods.

Brunswick Heads also has many cafes, restaurants and pubs. We loved our Mexican dinner at Gringo’s which was located directly next to our accommodation. There is a famous pub called the Brunswick Heads Hotel that has a large outdoor area that hosts live music and has a chilled Sunday afternoon vibe.

Brunswick Heads is situated at the mouth of the Brunswick River and Brunswick Heads beach. This was the perfect playground for fishing, surfing and long lazy sand walks. We hired a small boat to take along the river and find all the hidden fishing spots. At the boat hire place in town there was also the opportunity to hire SUP boards, pontoon boats and canoes. We saw lots of people canoeing in the river and it would be great to try for our next visit.

The bridge on the way out to the beach was a hive of activity with lots of people jumping off the bridge. The kids were surprised when I gave them the go ahead to jump in!!

Our accommodation at Reflections Holiday Parks Massy Greene

Deluxe Cabin Massey Greene

Deluxe Cabin Massy Greene

We were guests of the Reflections Holiday Parks Massy Greene and were given a deluxe cabin to stay in for a few nights. The cabin had all the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay and more. We had a spacious 2 bedroom cabin which slept 5. The kids’ room had a double bed and a bunk which meant all three had a bed which meant everyone had a good night’s sleep. The cabin came with all the bedding and bathroom towels.  The cabin is fully air conditioned, ready for the summer months and has ceiling fans in each room.

The cabin also had a lounge room and kitchen and eating area. The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge, dishwasher and cooktop. The large wooden deck overlooked the holiday park and had a table setting and a built in barbeque which we cooked a few meals on.

Reflections Holiday Parks Massy Greene is situated directly on the Brunswick River and is a very popular place to stay due to its location. The sites right on the river have an amazing view to wake up to each morning. Our cabin was one row back from the river and we had glimpses of the water from our deck.

Reflections Holiday Parks Massy Greene has a small playground that the kids explored and many facilities for campers and caravan goers. The holiday park was extremely clean and well maintained and more importantly it was very quiet at night.
