Airbnb Currumbin Beach Family Holiday

Airbnb Currumbin Beach Queensland

Staying at an Airbnb Currumbin for our Beach Family Holiday

Our family was given the opportunity to have a beach holiday at Currumbin beach.  We partnered with Airbnb who hosted our stay. The family decided on a beach holiday that involved lots of family beach time, beach walks and no technology.  We were quick to decide on our Beach Family holiday on the Airbnb website. Our list of MUST HAVES for our family beach escape was: a balcony with views of the water, enough space to spread out, a kitchen to utilise and walking distance to the beach and cafes. Steph’s Airbnb at Currumbin Beach ticked all those boxes and much, much more.

The Accommodation

We needed an entire house for our beach getaway that had separate bedrooms and living spaces. As much as we love spending time together, we also like to spread out and find our own areas within our accommodation to relax, watch TV and read. Our Currumbin Beach Airbnb house felt like our home immediately. Steph emailed all the details on how to arrive at the accommodation and then she sent me a text the morning of our arrival to tell us the house was ours when we were ready. We arrived to a light filled three-storey home which was very clean and full of fresh flowers. I loved this homely touch of fresh flowers and greenery. The bowl of welcome chocolate balls was well received by all the Green family.

We unpacked and the kids discussed the sleeping arrangements. There was a 2nd bedroom with a bathroom next to the lounge room and then upstairs Cooper chose the pull out sofa to sleep on.

We had a beautiful master bedroom with an ensuite and dressing room. We had views of the ocean from our bedroom and also our top floor had a huge balcony which I chose as ‘my spot’. The balcony was the best place to eat breakfast, check the waves, search for whales and read in peace. I kept all my breakfast supplies in the kitchenette upstairs so I didn’t wake anyone downstairs in the mornings.

The main area of the house was a large light filled living area with a huge dining room table next to a well equipped kitchen. I love when we stay in Airbnbs we can cook breakfast and have long lazy lunches and feel right at home. Steph had a modern kitchen with some supplies left for us – milk, tea, coffee, sugar and cooking oils. It is the little details like this that make staying in an Airbnb so relaxing and easy.

The back deck was another lovely area that we utilised for the kids to eat breakfast and we played a few card games outside too.

The garage was a double which left plenty of room to leave the car and all the surfing equipment.

The Little Extras

The chocolates left next to the wi-fi password were just the beginning to the little extras in our Airbnb. We were lucky enough to find our linen cupboard had beach towels ready for our daily beach swim. There was a clothes line to hang these towels on each afternoon ready for the next swim. Each day when we went to the beach the kids took the body boards and even the surfboards had a turn of being used. We didn’t have the chance to use the kayak that was in the garage, if only we had more time. Each bathroom was stocked up with shampoos, conditioners, soaps and bathroom supplies. The kitchen was well stocked with various condiments ready to be used. Steph left us a small bottle of milk and cheese platter supplies which we enjoyed one evening on the balcony when the kids were asleep.

The kids loved finding the various instruments that were around the home. Tommy put on a little ukulele performance for the family.

The beds were made up with top quality bedding and the pillows were simply perfect and we each had soft fluffy bathroom towels to use.  We were well looked after and it felt very luxurious staying here.

The Location

My main MUST HAVE for choosing our Airbnb was being able to see, hear and walk to the beach. I counted 50 steps from the front door to the sand which was about a 2 min walk or a 1 min run by the kids. We could see the ocean very clearly from the balcony and hear the ocean while drifting off to sleep. We walked to the beach a few times a day, we grabbed coffees each morning from the cafes that were along the beach front and we walked to dinner each night. It was so refreshing to leave the car in the garage and be able to have everything in walking distances. The coffees we had each morning were from a different café each day and we tried a different restaurant each night.
